As I mentioned on Friday, this past weekend we got to cruise up to Ludlow, Vermont for a little R&R and to enjoy the fleeting beauty of fall in New England. Fall is my FAVORITE time of year. I can’t get enough of the crunchy leaves, all of the gorgeous warm hues of the turning trees and potted mums, and the crispness of the air. So a weekend in Vermont around the height of peak foliage was a small dose of heaven for me.
We stayed at the adorable Castle Hill Resort and Spa which is actually the old governer’s mansion turned into a resort. The grounds are immaculate and you can see Mount Okemo behind the hotel which makes for a pretty nice backdrop :)
After relaxing Friday night with our warm welcome gift, Saturday we hit the dusty road!
My camera couldn’t keep up with the car as we sped past ANOTHER bridge. But this is actually one of my favorite shots- its abstract but the colors are so vibrant that I may turn it into a printed canvas!
Before we left I saw this adorable fall wreath on Pinterest and thought it would be a perfect, inexpensive DIY.
…and OBVIOUSLY the acorns are better in Vermont than in Mass…
So I got up early each morning like a little squirrel and rounded up as many acorns as I could. Sadly, not enough for my wreath, but I guess I can supplement with some local acorns. I’ll show you the finished project ASAP!
EDIT: I found this spray painted version of an acorn wreath and kinda love it more. Which one should I do!?!
And that about wraps up our weekend- it was great while it lasted. Tell me, how was your weekend? Did you engage in any fall fun? Tell me about it :)
